Eric de Cavaignac has more than 20 years experience in media, communications, and eCommerce businesses. The majority of his work experience has been focused on international development, beginning his career at AT&T, expanding voice and data communications networks in Asia and the Indian Ocean Region. As a consultant with McKinsey & Co, Eric advised leading media and private equity clients in Europe and the US on growth strategy, online, mobile, and broadcast product launches, partnerships, and acquisitions. As SVP of Strategy and Business Development, he helped engineer a highly successful turnaround and expansion of Rodale Inc, which resulted in profitable revenue growth of more than $400 million through a mix of brand extensions, international expansion, online, and DRM.
Eric is now the Global Head of Corporate Development at Christie’s, where he’s helped craft a new strategy for growth, and launched successful new brand extensions, including Christie’s Travel in association with Abercrombie & Kent, a publishing business in partnership with Phaidon, and a new Secured Art Lending program.
Eric earned his MBA from Columbia Business School. He earned his BA in International Relations from Trinity College, where his passion for politics and international development began.
